Tiramisu

Silvia Taccani and I met as students at Rhode Island School of Design—both transfer students in the textile department. I overheard her telling someone she was interested in going to Tennessee for the weekend. I thought it was a odd place to want to visit and told her so. We became close friends. Originally from the Mandello del Lario region of Lake Como, Silvia moved to New Haven with her first husband who was going to Yale and stayed for around 15 years. I was fortunate to have a college friend be so close. And whatever she made or did was special. She lives in New York City now.

Silvia is an exceptional cook and shared this easy recipe for Tiramisu. She thinks she asked her Nanny how to make it who was from Trento, Italy. Silvia gave me many other wonderful recipes that are some of my favorites.
